Stand with feet together. Raise one arm straight up close to the side of your head and extend the other arm out. Tilt to the side where the arm is extended, keeping your face pointing toward the front. Keep your knees straight and push energy toward your feet. Repeat on the other side.

About the Author
Tarthang Tulku Rinpoche is a teacher and author in the Nyingma lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. Born in 1935 in eastern Tibet, Rinpoche was trained by many of the greatest Tibetan Buddhist masters of the twentieth century. After leaving Tibet in 1958, Tarthang Tulku taught at Sanskrit University in Varanasi, India, and also began reprinting endangered Tibetan sacred texts. In 1968 he moved to the United States where he has lived and worked ever since. Rinpoche has founded more than 20 organizations, preserving and promoting Buddhist wisdom both in Asia and in the West. A pioneer in communicating the wisdom of his tradition to secular audiences, he is the author of over two dozen books, including Gesture of Balance; Time, Space, and Knowledge: A New Vision of Reality; Kum Nye Tibetan Yoga; Skillful Means, Revelations of Mind, and Caring.
