Compostition inspired by a German Gothic illuminated manuscript (isolated folio in the Berlin Museum, owner of the Willelham Codex).
Calfskin (12.5 x 17.5 cm), gold applied on gum ammoniac for the background and on medieval gesso for the halo; pink mineral gold powder for the archangel’s and dragon’s wings; medieval distemper.
Initial “B”
Initial representing David playing a psaltery. Taken from an antiphonary; the original measured about 22 x 21 cm and introduced the first of the 150 psalms in the Bible.
Calfskin (11 x 10 cm), 22 karat gold powder, shadowed with burnt umber distemper or for ornaments; medieval distemper.

Reproduction of folio 17v of the Lectionary of the Gospels (Munich, Clm. 4 425).

Christ in Majesty
Reproduction of the miniature of folio 55 of the Sacrementaire de Pons (around 1170-1175, Clermont-Ferrand, France, BM, ms. 63). Christ, sitting on a throne, makes a gesture of benediction with his right hand; the left hand is resting on the Bible. The four evangelists are represented symbolically in the corners: the eagle for John, the lion for Mark, man for Matthew, and the bull for Luke.
